Friday

In England, Verne writes in his diary . . . .

02-16-45

Practice mission canceled. Loafed around the barracks. Wrote a couple of letters. Finished up the cake Aileen sent me. No mail today. Talked to Major Gross1 and he wants us to have a little bitching session tomorrow. Mission was scrubbed. War news is good from all over. Weather very foggy today. No news of staff ratings until after our 10 or 15 missions.

Notes & Commentary

1 Maj. James O. Gross, Combat Crew 87’s new pilot.
