Saturday

Wayne’s journal remains silent.

In England, Verne commented in his diary on his visit to London.

Up at six a.m. and on the way back. Rode a subway for first time on the 4th. It was quite an experience. Was quite mixed up several times but made out o.k Sure wish Aileen were here. She keeps me from forgetting so darn much, absentminded.

Notes & Commentary

In the South Pacific, it was a treat for Wayne to rotate from Stirling Island to Banika in the Russells. Verne has been in England less than a month, flown only a few combat missions and already has a three-day pass to visit London.
