Wayne’s journal remains silent.
In England, Verne wrote in his diary of his visit on a three-day pass to London:

Up at seven and on my way to tour the town. Went to all the memorials I could find. Everything very old and quite dirty looking. Seen St. Johns, Westminster Palaces and others — too many to mention. Went to Stage Door Canteen in Piccadilly Circus. Very good shows. British treat us boys very well.
Notes & Commentary
London’s Stage Door Canteen in Piccadilly was run by the NAAFI (Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes).

“British treat us boys very well. ” I think the US boys were treated well both in Britain and Australia because they were so polite and well behaved.
